Our approach
We design gardens with a keen focus on sympathetic shapes and locally sourced materials. Our research process draws on the historical context, architecture and craftsmanship of each place we design for. We love collaborating with clients to create bold palettes and naturalistic planting, whilst priding ourselves on our knowledge of unusual species.
Our long-standing relationships with specialist nurseries enable us to source adventurously whilst making planting choices that are sustainable, well-suited to the individual requirements of a site and provide year-round interest. Our approach acknowledges how green spaces play a vital role in the wellbeing of both people and planet, and we always use organic methods to support the health of soil and natural ecosystems.
About Patrick
Based in South East London, Patrick Featherstone founded his garden design studio in 2010, which now consists of an entirely LGBTQ+ team.
Featherstone began his career as a gardener himself, before he taught garden design at City Lit College for five years. Featherstone has since designed for educational institutions, commercial spaces, family gardens and garden installations, including commissions for Kew Gardens and Somerset House. He has also led on the planting design for six celebrated Chelsea Flower Show gardens.
Featherstone’s knowledge of unusual species and long-standing relationships with specialist nurseries enables him to source adventurously.
